Maintain and oversee
- Maintain and oversee the general ledger and accounting records for private equity funds, management companies, and investment entities.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Perform timely and accurate review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Cook up month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Account for investment transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, capital calls, distributions, valuations, and carried interest allocations.
- Aid with fund performance reporting and investor reporting packages.
- Collaborate with investment, operations, and tax teams to support business initiatives and fund activity.
- Support external audits, tax compliance processes, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Analyze financial data and prepare management reports, variance analyses, and ad hoc requests.
- Monitor data integrity and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Participate in special projects, systems enhancements, and strategic initiatives.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years supporting private equity funds, investment management firms, or alternative asset managers.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and private equity fund accounting principles.
- Experience with capital calls, distributions, calculations, management fees, and partnership accounting.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial modeling techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization.
