Accountant, Revenue
What you'll be doing:
- Prepare and maintain revenue recognition schedules in accordance with ASC 606 and company policies.
- Review customer contracts, amendments, and billing arrangements to ensure proper accounting treatment and revenue timing.
- Analyze revenue transactions and investigate discrepancies or variances.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and month-end close activities related to revenue accounts.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and support revenue-related reporting.
- Partner with Billing, Operations, FP&A, and other cross-functional teams to ensure accurate invoice and revenue reporting.
- Auxiliary with deferred revenue accounting, contract assets, and unbilled receivables analysis.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries related to revenue accounting.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and stronger internal controls within revenue accounting processes.
- Auxiliary with implementation or enhancement of ERP/accounting systems and reporting tools as needed.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 2 + years of accounting experience, with emphasis on cash applications, reconciliations, or accounts receivable.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and internal control practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/accounting systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work with large volumes of transactions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve discrepancies independently.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with Finance and Operations teams.
- Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
About the role:

Pay:
$29 to $32 per hour, based on experience.
Schedule:
This position is based on site at our corporate office in Houston, TX, Mon-Thur in office and remote on Fridays. The office address is 4920 Westway Park Blvd, Houston, TX 77041.
