Accountant - Princeton - Full-Time or Part-Time
About the Role
YPTC’s Princeton market includes Central New Jersey: Princeton, Morristown, Trenton, New Brunswick, and surrounding counties including Hunterdon, Somerset, Middlesex, Monmouth, Mercer, Morris, Essex, and Union. Successful candidates will be comfortable working with multiple clients both virtually and on-site, interacting regularly with clients, their staff, Board of Directors, and Finance Committees. Promotion potential to a Controller-level position is available.
Responsibilities
- Weekly and monthly processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
- Bank account and balance sheet reconciliations
- Monthly financials and related analysis
- Grant tracking and monitoring
- Cash flow projections and monitoring
- Preparation for outside audits
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 3 years of related experience in public accounting and/or industry; 5+ years preferred
- Outstanding communication skills and a positive attitude
- Knowledge of, or interest in learning, multiple accounting software packages; QuickBooks experience is a plus
- Intermediate-level Excel skills
- Willingness to travel to client offices as needed
- Nonprofit experience preferred, but not required
Part-time employees are expected to work during normal business hours to best serve our clients.

Pay
Starting annual base salary is $70,000 to $85,000 based on a 35-hour work week for this non-exempt position. Total compensation may increase with overtime pay and eligibility for various bonuses. A professional development reimbursement and technology stipend are also provided annually.
Base salary may vary depending on factors such as education, skills, experience, licensure, certifications, internal salary ranges, geographical location, and other business needs.
Schedule
Standard full-time work week of 35 hours, with eligibility for paid overtime for non-exempt employees. Hybrid work environment with flexibility in scheduling.
