We're looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations, assist with month-end reporting, and ensure our books are accurate and audit-ready. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial reports, cash flow summaries, and expense tracking
- Aid with budgeting, tax filings, and regulatory compliance tasks
- Support external bookkeeping and tax advisors as needed
- Help maintain records for government grant tracking and investor reporting
- Ensure financial controls and best practices are followed
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a SaaS or startup environment
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks Online preferred) and Excel/Google Sheets
- Strong understanding of Canadian tax laws, payroll, and financial reporting
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and follow-through
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote setup
- Bonus: Familiarity with SR&ED, COJG, or other grant-related financial tracking is an asset
