About the role
Pilot Company is an industry-leading network of travel centers with over 30,000 team members and 750 retail and fueling locations across 44 states and six Canadian provinces. The company supports a diverse portfolio of brands in energy and logistics, including fuel supply, oil operations, supply chain, retail operations, logistics, transportation, technology, construction, maintenance, human resources, finance, sales, and marketing.
Responsibilities
- Perform general accounting activities including the preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, and capital expenditure schedules
- Prepare, record, analyze, and report accounting transactions and ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles
- Provide financial support, including forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing variations from budget
- Analyze and prepare statutory accounts, financial statements, and reports
- Conduct or assist in the documentation of accounting projects and processes
- Track and record lease information through AMT
- Perform prepaid account entries and amortizations
- Work and communicate with other groups to resolve issues
- Compile, consolidate, and analyze accounting and finance information to produce financial statements and reports
- Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
- Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- We are seeking applicants with a local presence in Knoxville, TN or the surrounding communities
- This position does not support immigration sponsorship

- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required
- Minimum three years’ experience in accounting or related area is required
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills are preferred
- Familiarity with Infor Financials & Supply Management or general ledger (GL) accounting software is preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) is preferred
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail are required
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills are required
- Strong teamwork, problem solving, conflict management, influencing, and negotiation skills are required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate financial principles and practices with non-finance team members are required
- The ability to exercise judgment and make decisions in determining company policies and strategies affecting company financial performance are required
