Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversees all general ledger activity by ensuring all transactions are recorded timely and accurately in accordance with GAAP.
- Aids in the monthly close process and reporting by providing detailed analysis of transactions.
- Aids in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts by analyzing data, variances, and trends to support data-driven, strategic decisions.
- Aids with audit preparation and interacts with external auditors by gathering data and responding to inquiries in a timely manner.
- Ensures Data Integrity for accounting system applications by updating and maintaining data through queries, review of data, identification of variances, and making necessary adjustments.
- Facilitates automation efforts by evaluating processes to identify opportunities for improved efficiencies.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, local and company regulations and policies by studying legislation and company policies and applying those policies and regulations to financial transactions.
- Provides support and analysis for development and grant/funding initiatives.
- Supports the organization and Accounting Team by assisting and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field plus three years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience to equal seven years.
- Advanced Excel skills including the ability to combine and manipulate large sets of data.
- Must provide proof of valid driver’s license and personal valid vehicle insurance.
- PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Project management experience, time management and organizational skills are preferred.
- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP platform(s) is preferred.
- Contract and Grant knowledge preferred.
