Position Summary

Responsible to perform a variety of general accounting responsibilities, including journal entries and account reconciliations, in accordance with GAAP, to provide accurate and useful information for management review and decision making.

Here’s What You’ll Do

  • Responsible for general ledger maintenance to include, journal entries, coding invoices, account analysis and reconciliation, setting up new accounts and assisting with accounting close process, while ensuring such is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Aid in reviewing financial statements to include monthly balance sheet, income statement and report on changes in financial position/budget variances and maintains related records.
  • Aid in reviewing assigned operating budgets and research and explain variances; assist in the preparation of budgets used in measuring, planning, and controlling business operations and provide for management review.
  • Consult and/or educate associates and management on financial statements and reports; may participate in research to assist with identifying and resolving business issues.
  • Maintain current knowledge of legal regulations, industry trends and best accounting practices; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes and to ensure company compliance.

Here’s What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Required) in Accounting or Finance or another related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
  • One year of Accountant/Accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organization and analytical skills; attention to detail and ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • General knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficient in MS Office (Access, Excel, Word).

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate but may be high in distribution settings.
