Accountant I
About the role
The Accountant I role supports the daily operations of the Accounting & Finance team by assisting with accounts payable and month-end close processes, maintaining accurate financial records, and helping ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.
Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable & Vendor Support: Process and record vendor invoices, maintain vendor records, assist with payments, and reconcile accounts payable records.
- Payment Processing: Track payments and maintain accurate accounts payable records.
- Expense Management: Manage expense reporting processes including credit cards and employee expenses.
- Month-End Close & Financial Reporting: Perform month-end close activities, prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Financial Reporting: Support revenue reconciliation and related reporting activities, prepare financial reports, and maintain organized accounting records.
- Support Internal Audits: Respond to internal audit requests and maintain audit-ready documentation.
- General Support: Provide general support to the accounting team and assist with other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 1–3 years of accounting, AR/AP, or bookkeeping experience required
- Experience with accounts payable processes strongly preferred
- Experience working in an ERP system (NetSuite preferred)

- Ability to adapt communication to a variety of recipients and situations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including filtering, sorting, pivot tables, lookups)
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Comfortable working with financial systems and online payment platforms
Benefits
Full-time Monday-Friday, exempt position. Primarily onsite in Longmont, CO, with the potential for hybrid schedule after training. Physical Requirements: Ability to use hands and fingers to operate office equipment, occasional lifting up to 15-20 pounds, visual acuity to read and produce printed and digital documents, occasional climbing, stooping, bending, and overhead reaching.
