Accountant I

About the role

Help improve the lives of North Dakota citizens by supporting the North Dakota Information Technology (NDIT) Accounting Team, as an Accountant I. This role can be filled in at either our Bismarck or Fargo office and will work onsite one day a week. The rest of the time, the position can work remotely from home.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounting duties in accordance with GAAP and GASB standards.
• Prepare and update supporting spreadsheets.
• Be responsible for managing the Accounts Payable inbox.
• Serve as contact for vendor inquiries and issues.
• Aid in the preparation and reconciliation of 1099 statements.
• Aid in the preparation and reconciliation of NDIT Accounts Receivable deposits.
• Prepare and reconcile deposits.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, statistics, economics, business or a related field, OR
• An associate degree in accounting, statistics, economics, business or a related field and one year of current and progressive accounting experience working with accounts payable or receivable, creating reports in Excel, and compiling financial reports/records in a medium to large size organization, OR
• Three years of current and progressive accounting experience as written above.
