Full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $53,704.68 - $77,871.00.

About the Role

The Colorado Judicial Department seeks an Accountant I to provide professional accounting support. This hybrid role is based at the Ralph Carr Judicial Center, 1300 Broadway, Denver, CO 80203.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, reviews, and/or approves accounting transactions in accordance with GAAP, GASB pronouncements, Judicial Branch Fiscal Rules, statutory requirements, and other authoritative guidance, including:
  • Disbursement of funds
  • Receipt and deposit of funds
  • Journal entries
  • Intra-governmental transfers
• Provides phone, email, and in-person customer service to Department personnel, vendors, and customers.
• Attends meetings and trainings as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

No formal supervisory responsibility; accountability for one's own work product.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related field, such as finance.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to sit, use hands for repetitive motions, and talk or hear.
• Frequently required to walk.
• Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds.
• Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• Generally quiet office setting.
• May handle emergency or crisis situations and is subject to frequent interruptions.
• May manage multiple calls and inquiries simultaneously.
