About the Role
The Colorado Judicial Department seeks an Accountant I to provide professional accounting support. This hybrid role is based at the Ralph Carr Judicial Center, 1300 Broadway, Denver, CO 80203.
Responsibilities
- Prepares, reviews, and/or approves accounting transactions in accordance with GAAP, GASB pronouncements, Judicial Branch Fiscal Rules, statutory requirements, and other authoritative guidance, including:
- Disbursement of funds
- Receipt and deposit of funds
- Journal entries
- Intra-governmental transfers
- Provides phone, email, and in-person customer service to Department personnel, vendors, and customers.
- Attends meetings and trainings as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
No formal supervisory responsibility; accountability for one's own work product.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related field, such as finance.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit, use hands for repetitive motions, and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to walk.
- Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds.
- Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Generally quiet office setting.
- May handle emergency or crisis situations and is subject to frequent interruptions.
- May manage multiple calls and inquiries simultaneously.
