A Brief Overview This position is responsible for the book keeping and financial reporting for the physician network and related companies. This function includes providing schedules and analysis for external audits and for tax return preparation. What You Will Do Responsible for various day to day activities and procedures in General Accounting Monitor and prepare detailed, computerized spreadsheet of daily cash receipts; summarize at month end for posting to the general ledger Monitor miscellaneous cash receipts: ensure that checks are applied to the appropriate general ledger accounts; maintain copies to support work papers Monitor Patient Accounts’ daily cash postings; prepare spreadsheet to reconcile actual deposits to cash posting reports submitted by Patient Accounts, on a daily basis; coordinate resolution of discrepancies; monitor returned checks (NSF, stop payments, etc.); record applicable adjusting journal entries Prepares and inputs journal entries into the general ledger Prepare bank reconciliation of specific purpose fund bank accounts Prepares financial statements accurately and timely Oversee student loan receivable activities, i.e., current billings and payment applications performed by an AP clerk Reviews and analyzes Balance Sheet Accounts and executes necessary steps to correct misclassifications and other posting errors and omissions Maintains inter-company account analysis; inter-company funding (HNMC to Physician Groups); monitor Physician Groups cash position for repayment schedule; all other account analysis Reviews monthly bank reconciliations prepared by a staff accountant for the Physician Groups. Ensures that cash analysis report prepared by the Staff Accountant are in proof with the GL Monitors HNMC physician fees and ensures that departmental charges are recorded and/or accrued in the month that they are incurred Prepares schedules & analyses for Interim and Year End audit, providing the Tax Accountants all info required for the Annual Corp tax returns. Reviews Physician Groups tax returns and tax payments Performs other duties as assigned Education Qualifications Associate's Degree in Accounting Required Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Preferred Experience Qualifications 1-3 years Minimum of 2 years of experience in a bookkeeping or accounting position. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles; Proficient in computerized spreadsheets; Good written and oral communication skills. If you are hired at Holy Name, your final base compensation will be determined based on factors such as employment status (Full/Part-Time or Per Diem) skills, education, and/or experience.
