Accountant

We are partnering with a mission-driven nonprofit organization seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to manage daily accounting functions and help maintain the accuracy and integrity of the organization's financial records. Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
• Prepare and record journal entries while ensuring accurate financial documentation.
• Coordinate and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Manage billing, invoicing, and collections activities.
• Process payroll and ensure compliance with payroll reporting requirements.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and provide reporting support to leadership.
• Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, facilitating audit requests and annual audit activities.
• Ensure adherence to accounting policies, internal controls, and nonprofit reporting standards.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to accounting procedures and workflows.
• Provide supervision, training, and support to the Accounting Assistant.
• Assist with additional accounting and finance projects as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline required.
• 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with full-cycle accounting and month-end close processes.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, billing, and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with QuickBooks and proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
