Accountant

CIMA Aviation is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the CFO and other members of the finance team. The position handles a broad range of accounting activities, including accounts receivable, credit management, accounts payable, and month-end reconciliations.

The successful candidate should have strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, along with practical knowledge of office processes, accounting software, and electronic communication tools. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively with employees at different levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Perform various accounts receivable activities, including:
  • Processing receipts
  • Cash application
  • Invoice posting
  • Collections
  • Credit management
• Perform accounts payable functions, including:
  • Invoice entry
  • Purchase-order matching
  • Payment processing
• Audit employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Complete various month-end close reconciliations.
• Assist with sales tax compliance and filings.
• Support internal and external financial audits.
• Assist with tax audits and examination processes.
• Assist with ERP system management and recurring accounting procedures.
• Help develop and implement new procedures and system features designed to improve departmental workflow.
• Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
• Support other areas of the accounting department when operational needs require additional assistance.
• Take on accounting responsibilities that may fall outside the specific duties listed in the job description when necessary to support the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
• 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• A background in distribution and/or manufacturing is preferred.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of:
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Outlook
• Previous experience working with ERP systems is preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Ability to work effectively with the CFO, finance team, and employees across the organization.

Pay

$29–$33 per hour, depending on experience.
