Accountant

About the role

Perform day-to-day accounting functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger maintenance. Contribute to the monthly close process by completing account reconciliations, recording journal entries, and processing monthly accounting transactions. Assist in preparing monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Support month-end, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements. Collaborate with various departments to support financial decision-making. Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger maintenance
• Contribute to the monthly close process by completing account reconciliations, recording journal entries, and processing monthly accounting transactions
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Assist with tax-related activities including year-end 1099 filings and payroll tax filings
• Support month-end, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements
• Collaborate with various departments to support financial decision-making
• Carry out additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 0-3 years of accounting or finance-related experience
• Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to conduct critical decision-making and financial analysis

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship or prior experience in manufacturing, public accounting, or corporate accounting
• Experience with ERP systems
• Familiarity with cost accounting principles

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Data analysis and reporting skills
• Financial statement preparation and account reconciliation
