Accountant
About the role
Responsible for monitoring various general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries and financial reports, and conducting analysis. Maintains separate General Ledgers for the Medical Center, restricted funds, and its subsidiaries. Establishes controls for cash posting and miscellaneous receivables and other assets/liabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or closely related field
- Two to three years of previous work-related experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred
- Analytical skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment, attention to detail, and problem resolution
- Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

About The Team
St. Joseph’s University Medical Center is an academic tertiary care medical center and state-designated trauma center, located on the Paterson campus. It regularly accepts referrals of difficult or unusual cases from other hospitals and physicians and performs both complex and routine procedures. The Medical Center offers a full complement of specialty and subspecialty services including ambulatory, behavioral health, cardiovascular, emergency/trauma, internal medicine, neuroscience, oncology, orthopedic/spine, rehabilitation, surgical specialty, women’s health, imaging, and pediatrics.

St. Joseph’s Health provides a salary range to comply with New Jersey law. The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, and skills. The salary range does not include incentives, differential pay, or other forms of compensation.
