ACCOUNTANT
Accounting Support
Provides support and information to supervision, external and internal auditors as well as customers both inside and outside of Santee Cooper.
Records, reconciles, reviews, classifies and summarizes accounting information as prescribed by corporate policy, generally accepted accounting principles, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), FASB, GASB and NARUC.
Maintains appropriate documentation and support for all journal entries.
Reconciles assigned general ledger accounts of a moderate complexity to the appropriate sub-system(s) and/or source information.
Develops and maintains appropriate documentation and support for reconciliations.
Identifies and resolves noted variances in a timely fashion.
Maintains procedures for each key process which includes any process improvement in terms of accuracy and/or efficiency.
Reports and summarizes financial information for internal departments, governmental agencies, benchmarking studies as well as internal, external and Central audits.
Completes verification of assigned sections of the monthly financial statements for accuracy.
Aids in analyzing and reviewing capital, billable, reimbursable and O&M projects and prepares and records journal entries or expense transfers when necessary.
Works with the project managers and other accounting and engineering personnel to ensure that cost, in-service dates or invoices to customers are correct.
Analyzes reconciled construction projects of some complex nature and unitizes capital construction costs to proper regulatory accounts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Finance, Business, Economics or Management with at least 21 hours of Accounting or related accounting experience required.
Pay
$54,470 - $68,070 (min. - mid.)
