About the role

The Accountant supports SanMar's financial consolidation, financial reporting, internal control, intercompany, payments, and monthly reconciliations. They work independently to record transactions, update the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and assist with issue escalation and/or resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and assist controller in preparation of monthly/quarterly consolidated financial statements.
  • Contribute to the month-end close process to ensure timely, accurate financial data that is in compliance with GAAP and accounting policies with the ability to communicate status and results.
  • Conduct fact checks, resolve discrepancies, gather and analyze information.
  • Prepare and audit financial reports.
  • Assist with year-end external audit.
  • Produce scheduled and ad hoc reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in financial reporting and internal controls.
  • Prior experience in public accounting or working with a fast-paced environment is preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) within 1 Year preferred.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented work style.
  • Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet data manipulation and creation.
  • Experience in fast-paced, rapidly growing environment.
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently and balance multiple projects and processes simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, thoughtful decision-making, sound problem-solving, sufficient time and project management skills.

Pay

Salary Range: $80,170 - $100,000 annually, depending on experience.

Annual discretionary bonus up to 10% of base salary.

Schedule

Hybrid schedule: Required to work in the Issaquah, WA office Tuesday through Thursday each week; additional days may be added based on business needs.

Standard working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM PST.

Periodic travel may be required.

Work Environment

The employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods while working on a computer and participating in virtual and in-person meetings. Frequent use of hands for keyboarding and standard office equipment is required. Occasional standing, walking, and reaching may be needed to attend meetings or collaborate in an office setting. The role requires the ability to perform close visual work on a computer for extended periods. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10–15 pounds.
