Accountant

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close activities by preparing entries, reviewing balances, and helping ensure timely completion of reporting deadlines.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger through consistent review, analysis, and correction of financial data.
• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate support and clear documentation for audit readiness.
• Perform detailed reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies to resolution.
• Complete bank reconciliations regularly and follow up on outstanding items to keep cash records accurate.
• Analyze financial activity and identify unusual variances, errors, or missing transactions requiring adjustment.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather information needed for accurate accounting treatment and reporting.
• Assist with process improvements related to close and reconciliation activities while maintaining strong internal controls.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of accounting experience, including hands-on responsibility for month-end close activities.
• Demonstrated knowledge of general ledger accounting and standard financial reporting processes.
• Experience preparing journal entries and supporting documentation with a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong background in account reconciliations, including researching and resolving reconciling items.
• Practical experience performing bank reconciliations in a business accounting environment.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet recurring deadlines.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for analysis and reconciliation.
