Accountant

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and coordinate timely payment activity through accounts payable workflows.
• Reconcile daily revenue activity and prepare income journal entries to ensure financial records reflect accurate operating results.
• Record accounting transactions within the general ledger and maintain organized documentation for routine financial activity.
• Support accounts receivable functions by tracking incoming payments and resolving posting discrepancies as needed.
• Complete bank and account reconciliations, investigate variances, and follow through on correcting outstanding issues.
• Prepare and post journal entries with close attention to accuracy, coding, and supporting detail.
• Work within Opera and related accounting systems to review transaction data and maintain reliable financial information.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address accounting questions and help keep month-end tasks on schedule.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of accounting experience in a hospitality sector.
• Previous hospitality industry experience, especially in revenue-focused or property-based accounting, is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on background in accounts payable and familiarity with day-to-day invoice processing.
• Experience preparing journal entries, maintaining general ledger accuracy, and completing reconciliations.
• Working knowledge of accounts receivable processes and cash application activities.
• Proficiency with bank reconciliations and identifying discrepancies in transactional data.
• Experience using Opera and comfort working across accounting systems and spreadsheets.

Qualifications

Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.

Skills

Knowledge of accounting principles, proficiency with accounting software, and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously are essential.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00 per hour.
