Accountant

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day accounting support to finance leadership and help maintain smooth departmental operations.
• Handle journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to ensure accurate financial records.
• Absorb accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, including resolving discrepancies when needed.
• Support general ledger maintenance and contribute to the preparation of internal financial reports and statements.
• Participate in month-end and year-end close activities by organizing data, verifying balances, and completing assigned tasks.
• Compile and review inventory and production-related reporting to aid business decision-making.
• Cook with operational staff on scheduling and account-related activities to keep priorities on track.
• Help analyze performance data, investigate issues, and communicate findings or updates to relevant team members.
• Contribute to special projects, including support activities related to enterprise system implementation efforts.
• Work collaboratively across departments while handling sensitive financial information with discretion.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing or similar operational environment.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline preferred.
• Practical experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger work, and journal entry preparation.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting platforms such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar systems.
• Experience performing bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate supporting schedules.
• Solid analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage shifting priorities, and meet deadlines in an in-person setting.
• Clear communication skills and a team-focused approach to working with multiple departments.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $20.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

This is a Long-term Contract position offering an in-person opportunity to contribute across core accounting activities and selected operational support functions. The ideal candidate will bring strong Excel expertise, sound judgment, and the flexibility to manage both routine transactions and project-based assignments in a fast-paced environment. This contract would be 10 hours to 25 hours per week.
