About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our Accounting team and help support the financial strength and operational excellence of Oregon State Credit Union. As an integral member of the Corporate Accounting team, you will perform a variety of accounting responsibilities requiring high accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-through. Your work will include day-to-day accounting, financial analyses, reconciliations, regulatory reporting, and special projects. You will maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial records, support audits and examinations, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide valuable financial insights to leadership.

This position is ideal for someone comfortable balancing detailed, routine responsibilities with opportunities to contribute to higher-level projects and initiatives that advance the Credit Union’s financial objectives and member-focused mission.

Responsibilities

  • Perform essential day-to-day accounting and administrative activities.
  • Execute technically complex accounting functions, financial analyses, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting.
  • Maintain accurate accounting of financial information for the Credit Union and its subsidiaries in compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting standards.
  • Research complex accounting issues, evaluate financial and transactional data, and identify process improvements.
  • Support compliance with NCUA, IRS, State of Oregon, BSA/AML/OFAC, and other applicable regulations.
  • Maintain strong accounting controls and procedures.
  • Assist with audits, examinations, and regulatory reporting.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to staff and collaborate with auditors, examiners, and management.
  • Contribute to special projects and initiatives that advance the Credit Union’s financial objectives.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of accounting experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, general ledger management, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting, audit processes, internal controls, and record retention requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, payroll accounting, mortgage accounting, investment accounting, accounts payable, fixed assets, or cost accounting.
  • Experience with accounting and reporting systems, database applications, and financial software.

Pay

$68,104 – $71,887/year (DOE) plus bonus.
