About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accountant to join our team in the Energy industry. This is an exciting opportunity for an accountant to apply their skills in a fast-paced, innovative, and evolving environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in our processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all aspects of our accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Ensure compliance with all internal controls and assist in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures as necessary.
- Provide comprehensive audit support, including the preparation of all necessary documentation and liaising with external auditors.
- Perform complex account reconciliations, identifying and resolving any discrepancies promptly and accurately.
- Prepare accurate financial statements and reports for senior management, providing insightful analysis and commentary as required.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes, improve financial reporting, and drive overall business performance.
- Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes, ensuring our accounting practices remain compliant and up-to-date.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required. A Master’s degree or CPA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, GAAP, and regulations.
- Proven experience with journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, internal controls, audit support, and account reconciliations.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide meaningful insights.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and integrity in all work.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey financial information to non-financial colleagues.
- Proficient in the use of accounting software and other relevant computer applications.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge of the Energy industry would be a significant advantage.
