Responsibilities
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Prepare, review, and perform journal entries.
- Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Reconcile bank accounts, inventory, fixed assets, intercompany accounts, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Maintain supporting documentation for audit purposes.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Perform variance analysis comparing actual financial results to budgets and forecasts.
- Identify financial discrepancies and recommend cost-reducing or revenue-enhancing strategies.
- Participate in ERP or accounting system implementations and upgrades.
- Support management reporting and KPIs.
- Review work prepared by staff accountants.
- Train and mentor junior accounting team members.
- Improve financial acumen of the company through assistance and training opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Gather documentation and coordinate workflows for external and internal audits.
- Delegate tasks, review work, and provide guidance to staff accountants or bookkeepers.
- Ensure internal controls protect financial data integrity and comply with laws.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes.
- Develop and document accounting procedures.
- Strengthen internal controls and mitigate financial risks.
- Prepare local, state, and federal tax filings or regulatory documents.
- Prepare schedules for tax filings.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Remain calm, perform effectively, and behave professionally in busy and stressful situations.
- Proactively engage all team members to support the work environment.
- Follow safety rules and standards for the company.
- Arrive at work on time, as scheduled, consistently, and reliably.
- Understand and follow directions/instructions from supervisors.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5+ years of accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS (International Accounting Standards).
- Advanced Excel skills.
- ERP experience (SAP, etc.).
- Open to coaching and training to continually improve efficiency and personal growth.
- Comfortable with improvement discussions and recognition efforts to support the workforce.
- Completion of various reports, communication, and record-keeping in a prompt manner.
