Accountant

What You'll Do

• Reconciles general ledger for balance sheet accounts compared to Merchandise Management System, to include analysis of weighted average cost impact, transaction coding and respective general ledger mapping.
• Affords support in the preparation and delivery of monthly and quarterly reporting of financial information relevant to inventory positions, cost of sales, sales mix and gross margins.
• Prepares and analyzes specific retail segments' profit and loss statements to determine segment impacts to overall retail business.
• Affords assistance in the review and enhancement of operational procedures by identifying financial impacts and/or restrictions.
• Ensures general ledger is properly updated to reflect intent of operational procedure.
• Participates in Cost of Sales analysis; works with Senior Accountant in analyzing and projecting gross margin and ending inventory positions.
• Affords assistance in forecasting obsolescence exposure.
