Accountant
About the role
We are seeking a skilled Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial reporting, general accounting, budgeting, and compliance tasks. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills who can ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, perform detailed account analysis, and investigate and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Post and reconcile vendor payments and other financial activities to maintain accurate accounting records.
- Maintain and reconcile Accounts Payable activities, including verification, appropriate authorization, and payment of vendors.
- Support the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, analyze variances, and provide recommendations based on financial results.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, cost-saving opportunities, and areas for process improvement.
- Provide account analysis and financial information to support reporting and business decision-making.
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of internal controls designed to safeguard company assets and promote compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Support internal and external audits, including preparation of financial information and completion of related deliverables.
- Maintain compliance with applicable accounting standards and federal, state, and local financial requirements.
- Identify and recommend opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, and strengthen the accuracy and reliability of financial information.
- Collaborate with Finance team members and other business partners to address accounting issues and implement process improvements.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with general ledger maintenance and reconciliation.
- Knowledge of month-end closing processes.
- Competency in managing Accounts Payable and Receivable.
- Ability to prepare accurate financial reports.
- Strong analytical skills for financial data analysis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- At least 2 years of accounting experience.
Work Environment
This position offers a direct hire opportunity with the possibility of a hybrid work schedule after six months. The workplace encourages collaboration and continuous improvement in accounting processes.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $65,000.00 – $78,000.00/year. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
