About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team at Greystone Golf and Country Club. This role is integral to maintaining the financial health and operational efficiency of the club and its associated homeowners’ associations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong accounting background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities with accuracy and professionalism. In addition to core accounting duties, this position offers the opportunity to provide first-level IT support, coordinate with third-party technical providers, and contribute to process improvements. The Staff Accountant will serve as a key point of contact for financial administration, ensuring compliance with standards and delivering timely, accurate financial reports to support decision-making and strategic planning.

Qualifications

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • A comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is essential.
  • A minimum of two years of accounting experience is preferred, but candidates with relevant training and technical support background will also be considered.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis, is required.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, accounting software, and financial management tools is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to interact with team members, homeowners, and board members.
  • Knowledge of PC technical support concepts and practices is a plus, along with experience in hospitality, private clubs, or service industries.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and posting journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, and ensuring accuracy of financial data.
  • Completing month-end close processes, including bank reconciliations and balance sheet reviews.
  • Generating monthly financial statements and preparing financial packages for HOA boards.
  • Maintaining fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules to ensure proper asset management.
  • Analyzing account activity, investigating discrepancies, and maintaining comprehensive documentation for audit purposes.
  • Cooking annual audits and financial reviews, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Assisting with collections, delinquency reporting, and administering payment plans for homeowners.
  • Responding promptly to homeowner inquiries regarding assessments, payments, and account balances.
  • Managing homeowner account records, ensuring adherence to governing documents and internal controls.
  • Reconciling bank, investment, and reserve fund accounts regularly.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end closing activities and assisting in the preparation of annual budgets for the club and HOAs.
  • Cooking documentation for tax filings and attending HOA board meetings to present financial data.
  • Participating in financial analysis, process improvements, and special projects to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Providing first-level desktop IT support and coordinating escalated technical issues with third-party providers.
