About the role
The Accountant will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records. This individual will work closely with the Controller and assist with month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, forecasting, and general accounting operation functions. Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Perform monthly bank and general ledger account reconciliations
- Absorb assistance with month-end and year-end close processes
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial reporting
- Analyze financial data and investigate account variances
- Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed
- Prepare sales and use tax filings
- Assist with fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules
- Help prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
- Assist with annual audit requests and documentation
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency
- Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Experience with ERP/accounting software
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments
