Accountant 9-12 - Revenue Management Section
Position Duties
The Accountant 9-P11 position serves as a professional accountant responsible for accounting, revenue projections and monitoring, and internal control activities within the Revenue Collection and Monitoring Section. The position further serves as a professional accountant and analyst on special projects involving Section, Department and Statewide accounting and financial activities. This includes implementing new accounting and financial systems, upgrading previously automated processes, and automating manual processes in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
The Accountant 12 position serves as a senior professional accountant and analyst responsible for accounting, revenue projections and monitoring, and internal control activities in the Revenue Management Section. This position performs various accounting duties, reconciliations and develops procedures. This position also assists on special projects and provides accounting recommendations and analysis, ensuring that systems align with generally accepted accounting principles and practices. Other duties include making recommendations of new policies and procedures and assisting in completing complex annual reports.
Appointment Type & Benefits
This position is Full-Time. Therefore, you would be eligible to participate in the benefits offered by the state.
Required Education & Experience
- Accountant 9-P11: Possession of a bachelor's degree with at least 24 semester (36 term) credits in accounting.
- Accountant 12: Three years of professional experience performing or auditing the systematic classification and evaluation of accounting data and the preparation of related financial and managerial reports, including one year equivalent to an Accountant P11, Auditor P11, or Assistant Auditor General P11.
Alternate Education & Experience
- Accountant 9-P11: Possession of a Certified Public Accountant certification (CPA) may be substituted for one year of Accountant P11 experience. Possession of a Certified Management Accountant certification (CMA) may be substituted for six months of Accountant P11 experience.
