Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end accounting activities, including journal entries, account analysis, accruals, reconciliations, and review of financial transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports that meet internal standards and client expectations while maintaining accuracy in a high-volume work environment.
- Monitor cash activity and support accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, invoicing, and cash receipt processes as needed across assigned operations.
- Investigate transaction details using accounting systems, spreadsheets, and database tools, then communicate findings and recommendations clearly to management and stakeholders.
- Maintain accounting records in alignment with company policies and established procedures, and elevate discrepancies or control concerns when identified.
- Support audit activities by organizing documentation, responding to information requests, and assisting with both internal and external review processes.
- Contribute to budgeting-related work, expense tracking, vendor contract administration, payroll support, and other finance or clerical tasks tied to departmental needs.
- Provide day-to-day guidance to entry-level accounting staff, assist with onboarding, facilitate team coordination, and take ownership of special assignments or project-based work when requested.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant background.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of full-cycle accounting, including accruals, reconciliations, reporting, and transaction analysis.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to work effectively with large data sets, reporting tools, and financial databases.
- Experience supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, budgeting, cash management, and audit preparation.
- Familiarity with Yardi or another real estate accounting platform is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to clients, operations teams, and internal partners.
- Proven attention to detail, sound independent judgment, and the ability to stay organized while handling multiple priorities.
