About the role

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) is seeking a professional Accountant 2 in the Asset Protection Office. This role provides oversight, direction, and accountability for the inventory control process at Fine Wine and Good Spirit stores, Licensee Centers, and E-commerce locations, supporting meaningful improvements across the agency.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory Support: Assist in creating physical inventory and cycle count procedures for all retail locations.
  • Discrepancy Review: Reconcile, identify, and document inventory discrepancies while maintaining compliance with inventory policy.
  • Process Analysis: Analyze and monitor inventory processes, ensuring compliance, and recommend changes to improve efficiency.
  • Report Development: Develop inventory reports and analyze store variances to support operational improvements.

Schedule

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: Opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to four days a week, with one day per week in the Northwest Office Building in Harrisburg. Requires a securely configured high-speed internet connection and an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If unable to telework, reporting to the headquarters office in Harrisburg is required. Telework eligibility is subject to change.

Pay

Starting salary may be non-negotiable in some cases.

Requirements

Minimum Experience and Training

  • One year as an Accountant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years of professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting; or
  • Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation.

A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.

Other Requirements

  • Must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Must pass a background investigation.
  • An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
