Account Manager (Outside Sales/Manufacturing, $65K-$75K, Open to Entry Level w/ Degree)

Pay
Year 1: Guaranteed $65K–$75K + $6,300/year car allowance + annual bonus for exceeding goal.
Year 2+: Base + $6,300/year car allowance + uncapped commission + profit sharing + bonus for exceeding goal.

Schedule
Full-time, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM (flexible). Four days per week visiting customers within ~2–3 hours of home; one day per week working from home office.
About the role
Our client in the manufacturing industry is seeking an Account Manager for a remote, outside-sales position. You will spend four days per week visiting manufacturing customers to provide process solutions and equipment that improve operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is a self-starter comfortable working autonomously, making their own schedule, and continuously nurturing their territory to drive business growth. While mechanical aptitude is helpful, the most critical skills are curiosity, drive, and the ability to grasp new concepts while leveraging an extensive support network. Success requires strong accountability, excellent interpersonal skills, and superior organizational abilities. This role offers a long-term career in outside sales with increasing income year over year.
Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and grow the Austin, TX and surrounding-area territory
- Schedule and plan weekly customer meetings
- Visit manufacturing facilities to build relationships and uncover customer needs
- Maintain and grow existing accounts
- Identify new business opportunities through prospecting, research, and warm leads
- Assess product and service offerings and recommend solutions to customers
- Lead sales demonstrations during customer meetings
- Build positive relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual growth
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Participate in training and development opportunities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree OR 1+ years of sales experience
- Ability to learn manufacturing processes and effectively leverage internal resources
- Tech-savvy with solid computer skills and comfort learning new software
- Ability to spend four days per week in the field for customer visits (home every night)
- First week at the corporate office for training; weeks 2–4 include ride-alongs
