Account Manager lll, Industrial Water Treatment
About the Role
This role involves job shadowing and working alongside an experienced account manager to gain exposure to technical water treatment problem-solving and customer selling fundamentals. The candidate will be assigned specific tasks on accounts within an existing territory to retain and grow business, under the direction of a manager, while communicating with customers and ChemTreat team members.
Responsibilities
- With guidance, create, improve, and implement innovative sales strategies to drive ChemTreat’s position and increase market share within the assigned geography.
- Begin developing key customer relationships by:
- Helping identify key decision makers within existing accounts.
- Researching prospects and partnering with senior staff to cold call.
- Conducting frequent follow-ups and learning strategic questioning techniques.
- With assistance, identifying root issues to determine customer needs.
- Work with senior staff to increase sales and profit margins within the territory.
- Engage technical staff and management to develop retention and growth strategies.
- Begin establishing professional relationships with key personnel in customer accounts.
- Learn to create effective proposals for current and prospective customers.
- Communicate ChemTreat’s value proposition to the customer base.
- Over time, troubleshoot technical and site-specific process issues.
- Begin auditing key unit operations.
- Participate in customer and prospect entertainment in accordance with ChemTreat’s policy.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree; Engineering or technical degree preferred.
- 4-6 years of experience interacting with customers at all levels of an organization.
- Experience in water treatment preferred.
Physical Demands
- Travel dependent on the size of the assigned territory.
- May require long hours and varied work schedules.
- Constantly required to sit; occasionally required to walk, stand, climb (including stairs), balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Constant use of hands and fingers to handle objects, operate computers, and keyboards.
- Routinely required to reach with hands and arms, squat, turn/twist, or reach.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 60 pounds; occasionally maneuver drums weighing 250-800 pounds.
- Occasionally required to climb stairs and ladders and work at high elevations for extended periods.
- Occasionally required to drive both short and long distances, within DOT regulations.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions
- Required to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for deliveries, which may include: eye, hearing, and respiratory protection, protective apron, steel-toe shoes, gloves, hard hats, or face shields.
- Occasionally exposed to extreme heat conditions.
- May work in high-noise environments; ear protection may be required.
- Work sites may include indoor locations (e.g., boiler houses) and outdoor locations (e.g., cooling towers, water plants, wastewater plants, or process areas).
- Routine use of hazardous chemicals.
- Collaborative environment involving all levels within the customer organization and ChemTreat teams.
Pay
The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $130,000 USD per year. This position is also eligible for commission pay.
