About the Role
Relation Insurance is seeking an Account Manager to serve as the primary business contact for clients, ensuring client satisfaction and representing client needs within the organization. This role focuses on building strong client relationships, managing expectations, and driving new and repeat business opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a client advocate and the primary point of contact for assigned accounts.
- Develops professional business relationships with clients and understands their core business.
- Leads projects, deadlines, meetings, and client deliverables using established account management tools.
- Manages client expectations, service commitments, and anticipates client needs.
- Oversees the engagement letter process, including scope of services, compensation, project timeframe, and required data.
- Establishes carrier/vendor relationships to handle eligibility, claims, billing, plan implementation, contracts, and amendments.
- Resolves client issues promptly and delegates tasks to the support team as needed.
- Manages the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, compiles health benefits information, and reviews transparency documents.
- Peer reviews RFP information, analyzes results, and finalizes executive summary reports for clients.
- Prepares market analysis for new clients and prospects.
- Reviews vendor contracts, Summary Plan Descriptions (SPD), plan documents, 5500s, and employee communications for compliance.
- Follows up with carriers to ensure changes are reflected.
- Reviews claim and utilization data, analyzes trends, and submits customized reports to clients.
- Generates new sales through existing clients and referrals in line with the sales plan.
- Introduces other Relation products and services to clients.
- Gathers and interprets national Health and Welfare survey data for clients.
- Recommends process improvements as needed.
- Adopts innovative technology, including proprietary AI solutions, to enhance client service.
- Performs other projects, duties, and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- A Life Accident & Health License from the state of domicile is required and must be maintained.
- Advanced professional designation (e.g., CEBS, CBP) is highly desirable.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; a four-year degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ account management experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on Accident and Health lines of coverage.
- Working knowledge of insurance markets, products, services, ratings, and underwriting procedures.
- Proficient to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint) and online rating systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to maintain effective relationships with clients, co-workers, carriers, and vendors.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to function under tight deadlines, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities in a demanding work environment.
- Valid driver’s license, ability to travel to client sites, and reliable transportation.
Pay
The wage range for this role is $50,000.00 - $95,000.00. This range reflects factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs. Participation in a discretionary annual incentive program may also be available, dependent on individual and organizational performance.
