About the role
Custom Truck One Source is seeking a sales professional with a background in construction vehicles, equipment, and heavy & light duty trucks. The position reports to the Regional Sales Manager and focuses on driving sales growth through prospecting, relationship building, and account management. The candidate must reside in Charlotte, North Carolina or surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
- Primary focus on new and used equipment sales, including tools and equipment, as well as promoting the rental product line.
- Conduct marketing analysis and segmentation to define key prospects, prospecting, cold calling, and identifying customer needs.
- Quote, close new business, and service existing accounts; obtain orders and establish new accounts.
- Adjust sales presentations based on the type of sales outlet or trade factor.
- Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealers.
- Submit activity and results reports (e.g., daily call reports, weekly work plans, monthly and annual territory analyses) via Salesforce.
- Monitor competition by gathering marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
- Recommend product changes by evaluating results and competitive developments.
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, and preparing reports with recommendations to management.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, professional publications, networking, and industry participation.
- Maintain records on area and customer sales for historical reference.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
Requirements
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background screen.
- 3 to 5 years of outside sales experience in vocational equipment and/or truck sales.
- Demonstrated track record of sales achievement and new business development in vocational vehicle sales or leasing.
- Professional and technical knowledge of aerial vehicles, equipment, and heavy & light duty trucks is desired.
- Excellent communication and managerial skills; proficient computer skills.
- Professional personal appearance.
- Valid driver’s license.
Working Conditions
- Work environment alternates between office and plant settings, with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and some hazardous conditions.
- Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and moving about the facility; occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work scheduled hours, Monday through Friday, with additional hours/days as needed to meet business demands.
