Develop new business, stimulate sales growth of existing and new accounts, manage all region leads, and onboard new customers. Drive profitable sales growth through retention and expansion of revenue at current customers and acquisition of new customers within a defined territory. Build, identify, and implement strategies for growth, providing value, solutions, and technical support to customers. Reside in or around San Francisco/Bay Area, CA.
Responsibilities
- Qualify new sales leads and build relationships within the contact base.
- Provide professional representation of the Company’s brands.
- Ensure customer growth by partnering to drive proactive solutions.
- Demonstrate products effectively to customers.
- Coordinate order management activities: order entry, contract review, on-time delivery performance, inventory maintenance, special handling requirements, product specification maintenance, returns, and other customer-related activities.
- Engage in re-activation campaigns focused on re-engaging dormant accounts.
- Collaborate with internal and external resources to identify emerging customer needs, cost savings opportunities, competitive threats, and revenue enhancement opportunities.
- Develop and monitor a sales plan to achieve annualized account-level goals.
- Apply continued education on product offerings to enhance customer experience and become a prime technical resource.
- Call on vendor partners to enhance solution selling capacity.
- Operate effectively in a team selling environment.
- Maintain, update, and grow a robust opportunity funnel for the assigned territory.
- Understand industry trends and relate them to customer opportunities.
- Develop a compelling vision and communicate it to support strategic initiatives.
- Build relationships with customers, internal teams, and external partners.
- Focus on customer needs, resolve issues quickly, and achieve project goals.
- Expand product and technical knowledge in support of the customer base.
- Perform timely follow-up on quotes and inquiries.
- Monitor key performance indicators to identify gaps in customer profitability or service levels and work with cross-functional teams to resolve them.
- Schedule in-person visits with selected customers as needed.
- Record and maintain all customer-related and sales activity information in the CRM system.
- Indirectly responsible for product quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Distribution, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, or Business Administration preferred.
- 2+ years of industrial sales experience preferred.
- 2 years of electronics distribution experience preferred.
- Familiarity with CRM and sales pipeline/funnel management is a plus.
- Advanced skill in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel often.
- Daily/weekly travel visits to existing and potential customer sites.
- Majority of work performed outside of the home branch office environment.
- Attendance at a variety of business meetings as required.
- Demonstrated ability to meet established sales goals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal, time management, and presentation skills.
- Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
