Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of outside sales within an assigned territory.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to grow market share.
- Develop and manage a sales pipeline to achieve or exceed annual sales goals.
- Congduct sales calls, product demonstrations, and customer presentations.
- Expand business with existing customers by identifying new applications and solutions.
- Prepare proposals, quotations, and solutions tailored to customer needs.
- Collaborate with internal teams including product specialists, customer service, and engineering to support customer solutions.
- Partner with manufacturer representatives to grow key product lines.
- Stay current on new products, vendor initiatives, and industry trends.
- Maintain accurate sales activity and pipeline reporting.
- Travel throughout the assigned territory to meet with customers and support sales initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or minimum of 2 years of industrial distribution sales experience
- Proven track record of achieving year-over-year sales growth
- Strong ability to identify and qualify new market opportunities
- Technical or mechanical aptitude
- Excellent customer relationship and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Able to read parts manuals, vendor catalogs, and interpret blueprints
- Strong team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments
- Valid driver's license required
- Able to travel up to 75% within the assigned territory (overnight travel may be required)
Work Environment
This role requires regular visits to industrial and manufacturing facilities, interacting with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to identify opportunities and deliver solutions.
