Account Manager
About the role
K12 Insight provides a unified service platform for K‑12 public education that combines customer service, help‑desk ticketing, call‑center operations, AI chat, and IT asset management. Districts using the platform spend less time firefighting and more time serving students. As an Account Manager you will own a book of business, focusing on gross retention, net revenue retention, and the underlying relationships. You will monitor account health proactively, manage the full renewal lifecycle, identify and close cross‑sell and upsell opportunities, and maintain executive sponsor relationships. This is a remote role open to candidates anywhere in the United States with expected travel of 10%–25%.
Responsibilities
- Achieve gross retention ≥90% and net revenue retention (NRR) ≥100–110% across your portfolio
- Proactive health monitoring and churn mitigation
- Manage the full renewal lifecycle from outreach through close
- Identify, qualify, and close cross‑sell and upsell opportunities
- Maintain executive sponsor relationships across your accounts
Requirements
- 5+ years in account management, client success, or sales
- Demonstrated ownership of retention and expansion revenue — not support, ownership
- Proven track record of maintaining NRR of over 100% across a portfolio
- Comfortable in commercial conversations: building value cases, handling objections, negotiating pricing, guiding clients to decisions
- Technically curious: learns new software by hands‑on use and can converse with IT professionals
- Active Salesforce user and AI tool adopter
- K‑12 or EdTech experience is a plus (not required)
Pay
Expected base salary: $100,000 per year plus commission plan. Pay range: $100,000 – $100,000 USD per year (actual pay based on experience, skills, market demand, and internal equity).
