About the Role
The Account Manager role is at the forefront of our Lockton Northeast Client Engagement strategy. This position is responsible for the day-to-day servicing needs of clients under the general guidance of the Unit Manager, Account Executive, and/or Client Executive. The Account Manager leads core service delivery and executes administrative and service tasks while ensuring compliance with Lockton Northeast resources, policies, and procedures.
The Account Manager will participate in the Lockton Northeast Career Foundations Program or Career Advancement Program, which provides technical and practical training to support career progression. A high-performing Account Manager I will collaborate with the Unit Manager, Account Executive, and/or Senior Client Manager to ensure transactional excellence and deliver exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Execute all day-to-day administrative and service needs, including addressing claim issues, compliance questions, billing inquiries, plan-related questions, and other carrier issues requiring urgent attention.
- Lead core service delivery activities, such as:
- Completing tasks assigned to the ‘support role’ in the client engagement workbook.
- Leading client service calls, ensuring effective communication and accountability among team members. Provide updated logs to clients at least 30 minutes prior to calls.
- Managing monthly claims tracking, including updating and sending claims to clients before month-end, and ensuring peer review by the finance team prior to release.
- Handling compliance tasks, such as sending annual compliance calendars, reminding clients of due dates, completing drafts of 5500 forms, leading PCORI calculations, reviewing and delivering SPDs and SBCs, and sending annual compliance notices during open enrollment.
- Project-managing open enrollment communications, including establishing timelines, coordinating with clients after renewal decisions, developing benefits guides and presentations with the communications team, and ensuring deadlines are met.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related program (preferred) or equivalent education and/or experience.
- A minimum of two years of benefits insurance experience and/or Human Resources/consulting experience.
- Ability to efficiently organize work and manage time to meet deadlines.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures while proactively protecting the confidentiality of client and company information.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for this position, now or in the future.
