Account Manager
About the role
The Account Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end customer order process, from order receipt through shipment, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional customer satisfaction. This role serves as a key point of coordination between customers, Logistics, Purchasing, Operations, and internal teams to ensure orders are processed accurately and delivered on time. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in order management, customer communication, and cross-functional collaboration. This position offers the opportunity to play a critical role in improving operational efficiency and supporting strong customer relationships within a collaborative team environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Process customer purchase orders within four hours of receipt to support timely fulfillment and customer expectations.
- Enter and manage customer orders through both customer DSS systems and internal ERP systems while maintaining 99% accuracy across accounts and transactions.
- Cook daily follow-ups on outstanding tasks and order issues to support a 100% fill rate and ensure customer commitments are met.
- Couple with Logistics teams to coordinate product movement between storage and loading warehouses and support transportation requirements.
- Respond promptly to stakeholder requests through email and internal communication channels while ensuring deadlines and service expectations are met.
- Utilize Asana and other internal tools to track orders, manage workflows, and improve communication across teams.
- Identify process challenges, recommend improvements, and apply sound judgment to resolve customer and operational issues.
- Provide backup support to other Account Managers and contribute to a collaborative, team-focused environment.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; a bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2+ years of related experience in account management, customer service, order management, logistics, supply chain, or a similar role.
- Experience managing customer orders, coordinating shipments, and working with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze situations, make decisions, and maintain professionalism under pressure.
Preferred
- Experience working with ERP systems, customer order management systems, or supply chain platforms.
- Experience coordinating international shipments, ocean containers, or logistics operations.
- Familiarity with workflow management tools such as Asana.
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
