About the role
As an Account Manager (Facility Management/Janitorial), you will provide full oversight of custodial services and leadership to our team of staff. In this client-facing role, you will be responsible for the successful execution of the project scope and delivering key deliverables, including managing profit and loss, operational excellence, and the health and safety of our employees.
Responsibilities
- Recognize that client retention is an ongoing process embedded in daily actions and attitudes, following the Tenacity Client for Life methodology.
- Maintain a strong account-level presence to build and sustain effective working relationships with all clients.
- Align key Dexterra contacts with corresponding roles or titles within the client organization, creating a relationship matrix (Web of Influence).
- Effectively communicate performance expectations, monitor progress, and reward achievements to ensure plans, goals, and budgets are met.
- Act as a talent scout by leveraging networks to identify, recruit, and evaluate potential Dexterra candidates.
- Regularly review succession plans and support career growth through personalized development plans.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections to ensure all operations run efficiently and comply with safety regulations and client expectations. Identify and resolve issues proactively to maintain service excellence.
- Ensure health and safety protocols are followed at all times, including conducting inspections to identify hazards and implementing corrective actions.
- Engage in regular client feedback sessions to assess satisfaction levels and identify opportunities for improvement. Ensure client feedback is effectively communicated to internal teams and used to enhance service delivery.
- Lead by example in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace. Encourage a culture of respect and collaboration by addressing biases and fostering a supportive environment for all employees.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of operational experience in Integrated Facilities Management, ideally within janitorial and general facilities services.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
- Strong understanding of building systems, equipment maintenance, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain employees while fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive workplace.
- Skilled in setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, and ensuring operational and financial goals are achieved.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both clients and staff.
- Ability to lead by example with a focus on safety, service excellence, and teamwork.
- A clear criminal record check will be required for this role.
