Account Manager, Air Defense and Fires

About the role

TrellisWare is a worldwide leader in advanced wireless communications technologies. This role is within the Business Development Team, focusing on Air Defense and Fires markets.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains business development objectives for contract awards with TrellisWare products.
  • Encourages innovative use cases for TrellisWare offerings.
  • Drives market interest in TrellisWare technology to meet strategic objectives.
  • Identifies and leads capture efforts, including customer/opportunity cultivation, summarizing for internal review, sales presentations, proposal writing, and costing inputs based on customer budget limits.
  • Interacts with customers and internal management on new opportunities and maintains a three-times target pipeline on a rolling twelve-month basis and actionable six-month forecast.
  • Analyzes and articulates new business/market opportunities, including market size, key customer accounts, and securing those customers.
  • Develops and manages relationships with target customer offices from initial contact through fulfillment, and coordinates customer demonstrations and events with the Field Service team.
  • Identifies and submits customer bailment requests for equipment loans, and participates in product summary level training and demonstrations.
  • Works with Marketing and Product Managers to articulate emerging customer requirements and concerns related to the product line.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Four-year technical degree or equivalent military service/sales/capture track record.
  • At least ten years overall experience in the field and five years related experience in the market or technology segments identified.
  • Deep understanding of military communications markets, key customers in those market segments with an emphasis on DoD Air Defense / Fires and Army tactical and strategic commands, related agencies, and relevant integrators and partners within the space.
  • Ability to comprehend complex signal processing and engineering concepts and explain them to customers.
  • Ability to support marketing, sales, and business development pursuits as needed.
  • Ability to draft product and application proposals and quotes, conduct market analysis, sales projections, and key account approach planning.
  • Familiarity with design, manufacturing, testing, and sales procedures for volume handheld and embedded radio products.
  • Familiarity with wideband networked military and commercial communication products and government contracting is a significant plus.
  • Works independently, demonstrates initiative, interacts with engineering and product management development teams, builds long-term relationships with internal and external customers, demonstrates documentation skills, proficiency with PC office applications, strong written and verbal communication skills, strong collaborative drive and interpersonal skills, strong initiative, proactive work ethic and prioritization skills, trustworthy judgement and analytical problem-solving skills, effective execution and decision making, and champions change and promotes innovation.
  • Able to frequently sit, stand, walk, use hands to fingers, handle or feel, reach within hands and arm’s length, stoop, kneel, and crouch, talk and hear, regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Benefits

Competitive compensation package, including annual salary range of $115,000 - $155,000 USD for San Diego, CA area, based on qualifications and experience.
