Account Executive | Sales | New Business Development
Job Description
You will play a key role in generating interest and driving company growth through customer acquisition. As part of our outreach team, you will master the ability to evangelize the WMW! story and identify, source and close good-fit prospects. Our prospects are creative professionals, such as copywriters and advertising agencies, as well as direct marketers who seek competitive intelligence. WMW! has been established for 30 years and has strong brand recognition among the direct marketing community. We recently acquired the company after it was allowed to decline and we have been funded by a private equity investor to update the service.
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience working in inside sales or lead generation
- Experience in outbound cold calling targeting multiple level contacts including executive management
- Success in prospecting new markets in a business to business (B2B) environment and closing new business
- Proven track record of selling success at an early- to mid-stage company
- Appreciation for data and a true passion for the products we’re building
- Experience working with sales tools and enjoys exploring new technologies
- Superb communications skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to demonstrate product highlighting benefits/advantages/features
- Self-starter who wants to win, has high-energy and can work well in a fast-paced environment
- College degree or equivalent work experience
Desired (but not critical)
- Experience with marketing data solutions, data intelligence or marketing analytic solutions
- Proven track record selling to C-Suite/owners of companies
What You’ll Do
- Engage in pre-sale research to identify likely outreach targets
- Drive customer outreach and leverage our family of companies’ network to find and compose thoughtful introductions
- Set meetings with potential customers to discuss our product offerings
- Critically evaluate what parts of our pitch and product resonate with customers and which parts don’t
- Generate new leads and collaborate closely with the rest of the sales team to build our sales pipeline
- Employ lead follow-up skills and quickly respond to and qualify leads from marketing generated campaigns and incoming phone and web inquiries
- Actively prospect, nurture, educate and qualify target prospects to create sales-ready opportunities; make strategic outbound calls & emails daily
- Build and drive territory/account sales plans for assigned geographic territory/verticals/named accounts and meet and exceed sales goals through value selling
- Deliver presentations/demonstrations highlighting the benefits of WMW! and Who’s Inspired By What
- Maintain an understanding of key industry trends and competitive issues and products
- Provide regular reporting of pipeline and accurate forecasts through CRM
- Achieve or exceed monthly quotas of qualified appointments/demos scheduled and deals closed
