About the role

PlanetBids is looking for an ambitious and hungry Account Executive to join our growing sales team. This is a full-cycle role — you’ll prospect, qualify, demo, and close your own deals across government and education sectors. You won’t just be running demos handed to you; you’ll help build the pipeline you work. This is the right role for someone who is early in their sales career but has already proven they can perform. You’ve got the fundamentals down — you know how to run a discovery call, you take pride in a clean CRM, and you’re motivated by the momentum of a fast-growing GovTech company. There’s a clear path to grow here, and the people around you are invested in helping you get there.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full sales cycle of small to mid-market agencies from prospecting and qualification through demo, negotiation, and close
  • Prolong self-generated leads through outbound cold calling, targeted email campaigns, and strategic outreach
  • Deliver engaging, consultative product demonstrations to stakeholders across government agencies and K-12 and higher education institutions
  • Utilize HubSpot CRM to manage pipeline, log all activity, and maintain accurate contact and deal records
  • Execute on campaigns developed by the sales and marketing team while also identifying your own opportunities
  • Work closely with teammates and leadership to refine messaging, improve conversion rates, and share market insights
  • Maintain and exceed monthly and quarterly quotas for pipeline generation and closed revenue
  • Engage multiple stakeholders within prospect organizations to build consensus and advance deals

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in SaaS or digital sales; you’ve run deals start to finish and have the results to show for it
  • Experience selling into or a strong interest in government or education sectors is a meaningful plus
  • HubSpot CRM experience required; you keep your pipeline accurate and your activity logged consistently
  • Comfortable running product demonstrations and presenting via video platforms like Zoom or Teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; you can craft outreach that earns a response and run a call that earns a next step
  • A natural problem-solver who leads with empathy and connects customer challenges to real solutions
  • Self-directed and accountable in a fully remote environment; you manage your time and your pipeline without being micromanaged
  • Must be physically based in the United States and legally authorized to work for any employer
  • Willing to travel up to 25% for conferences, trade shows, training, corporate events, and other related events, as required
  • Ability to work both autonomously as well as within a team in a remote work environment
