Account Executive II - Retail Partnerships (US & Canada)
About The Role
Uber Eats is seeking a dynamic Account Executive to expand its Retail business across the United States and Canada. This role involves growing the Uber platform to include more brands that customers know and love, including nationally recognized retailers, emerging consumer brands, regional favorites, and local businesses. Key responsibilities include prospecting, negotiating, and launching new merchant partnerships in categories such as Beauty, Fashion, Electronics, Home, Sporting Goods, and Specialty Retail.
What You'll Do
- Own the full sales cycle for prospective retail merchants, from prospecting and qualification through negotiation, contracting, and launch.
- Build and manage a pipeline of new business opportunities across a diverse portfolio of retail merchants, balancing nationally recognized brands, regional retailers, and high-potential local businesses.
- Develop relationships with business owners and executive decision-makers to understand their business objectives and demonstrate how Uber can help drive customer acquisition, incremental sales, and omnichannel growth.
- Deliver thoughtful, consultative sales presentations tailored to each merchant's business, clearly communicating the value of partnering with Uber.
- Negotiate commercial agreements that establish strong, long-term partnerships and create sustainable value for both Uber and our merchant partners.
- Partner closely with Operations, Account Management, Marketing, Product, Legal, and other cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless onboarding experience and successful merchant launches.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and forecast while consistently achieving or exceeding monthly and quarterly business goals.
- Share customer insights, market trends, and competitive intelligence to help inform Uber's retail growth strategy and identify new partnership opportunities.
Basic qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, account management, or a similar customer-facing commercial role.
- 2+ years of experience managing a sales pipeline and consistently delivering against quota.
- Experience prospecting, negotiating, and closing new business opportunities.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Passion for helping businesses grow through innovative technology and commerce solutions.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience selling into retail, ecommerce, SaaS, marketplaces, advertising, logistics, payments, or other commercial technology solutions.
- Experience managing consultative sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven track record of exceeding quota in a performance-based sales role.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and executive communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment while helping build new go-to-market motions and sales strategies.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Coachable, curious, and motivated by building new business.
Pay
The total on-target earnings (OTE) range for this position is USD $116,667 - USD $129,167. The OTE includes a base salary range of USD $70,000 per year - USD $77,500 per year and an annualized cash variable incentive target of USD $46,667 - USD $51,667. For New York City, NY-based roles: The OTE includes a base salary range of USD $77,500 per year - USD $86,000 per year and an annualized cash variable incentive target of USD $51,667 - USD $57,333. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The OTE includes a base salary range of USD $77,500 per year - USD $86,000 per year and an annualized cash variable incentive target of USD $51,667 - USD $57,333. The cash variable incentive target is based on individual sales performance and its payment is based on the terms of the Sales Incentive Plan. An equity award and other forms of compensation may be included in the offer.
