Account Executive - Environmental Testing
About the role
The Account Executive will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth for analytical environmental laboratory services, focusing on water, soil, air, and wastewater testing.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through proposal, negotiation, and close
- Develop new business and grow existing accounts for environmental laboratory testing services
- Partner with environmental consultants, industrial facilities, municipalities, government agencies, and other commercial clients to understand their needs and build strong relationships
- Identify client needs and recommend analytical testing solutions for water, wastewater, soil, air, waste, and other environmental samples
- Prepare proposals, pricing, and service agreements in collaboration with laboratory and operations teams
- Cook up with laboratory, project management, and client services teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction
- Generate new sales opportunities through networking, referrals, prospecting, and follow-up on company-generated leads
- Maintain accurate customer, pipeline, and sales activity records in Salesforce or other CRM systems
- Expand existing client relationships by identifying cross-selling and upselling opportunities
- Meet or exceed established sales, revenue, and business development goals
- Stay current on environmental regulations, industry trends, and market developments to identify new business opportunities
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in sales, account management, or business development within environmental laboratory services, environmental consulting, laboratory testing, or other technical B2B industries
- Demonstrated success managing the full sales cycle, generating new business, closing opportunities, and achieving or exceeding sales goals in a quota-driven environment
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical services and solutions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), and LinkedIn
- Knowledge of environmental laboratory testing, including water, wastewater, soil, air, or waste analysis, environmental regulations, or compliance services strongly preferred

Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time, hybrid position
- Frequent in-territory travel within assigned territory (approximately 30–50%), with occasional overnight travel for client meetings, training, conferences, and other business-related needs
- Ability to work outside of scheduled hours as needed to meet operational or client needs
