Account Executive - Business Development
About the Role
CSC Leasing is an organization of innovators dedicated to meeting the equipment financing needs of companies across the United States. Founded in 1986 and headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, CSC Leasing serves clients from Fortune 500 companies to startups with a relationship-oriented, community-centric, and hyper-responsive approach. Our clients are engaged in compelling work—launching autonomous robots, manufacturing components for defense and space industries, commercializing life sciences technologies, and advancing manufacturing—all requiring capital-efficient financing that preserves equity and runway.
The Account Executive (AE) is the engine that moves clients from signed term sheet through to fully funded leases. AEs own the post-term-sheet experience, ensuring seamless execution and high utilization on committed facilities. This role is a respected and critical member of the Sales organization, acting as the connective tissue between Sales, Credit, Legal, Operations, and Finance.
Responsibilities
- Post-Term-Sheet Deal Execution
- Quarterback the client experience from term sheet signing through onboarding, documentation, and lease commencement, ensuring a seamless handoff from the originating producer.
- Drive utilization on signed term sheets by working closely with clients on equipment ordering, financing submissions, and addressing shortfalls proactively.
- Manage diligence and credit handoffs, collecting outstanding items and coordinating with the credit team to ensure all approvals are in place before documentation.
- Coordinate documentation and execution, collaborating with internal legal counsel to draft, refine, and finalize master lease agreements, schedules, and ancillary documents.
- Cross-Functional Coordination
- Serve as the primary internal point of coordination between Sales, Credit & Investments (C&I), Operations, Legal, and Finance for every active closing.
- Unblock deal-stage issues in real time by identifying holdups and driving resolution.
- Participate in Sales Committee and Investment Committee meetings, contributing insights on deal evaluation, structuring, and support through close.
- Identify process inefficiencies, propose improvements, and lead implementation in partnership with operations leadership.
- Pipeline & Account Management
- Maintain real-time accuracy of the post-term-sheet pipeline, tracking stage, utilization, projected closings, and risks; provide weekly updates to leadership.
- Own weekly and monthly reporting on closing cadence, utilization trends, and pipeline conversion, ensuring data integrity and forecast accuracy.
- Maintain account-level relationships throughout the funding cycle, identifying expansion opportunities, refinancing windows, and follow-on capital needs.
- Lead the full onboarding process for net-new clients, setting expectations and establishing working cadences with their finance teams.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience in commercial banking, equipment finance, deal desk, sales operations, investment banking, or operations-heavy commercial roles.
- Proven experience in client-facing, sales support, or operations roles with demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams and build relationships with sophisticated counterparties.
- Strong working proficiency in Salesforce or comparable CRM platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and basic data modeling.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
Skills
- An owner mentality: proactive problem-solving with a bias toward resolution over escalation.
- Operational discipline: comfort with systems, processes, and data-driven workflows (e.g., CRMs, spreadsheets).
- High emotional intelligence (EQ): ability to navigate conversations with credit teams, senior producers, and CFO-level clients.
- Comfort with complexity: adept at managing multi-entity transactions, diverse asset classes, and varied payment structures.
- Quietly competitive: motivated by results and closing deals effectively, not by personal recognition.
- Team-first mindset: collaborative approach with a focus on collective success.
