Account Executive
About the role
The Account Executive at SPS is responsible for developing strong customer relationships in the commercial construction market, including developers, property owners, general contractors, and architects. This role involves identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, conducting sales presentations, and staying informed about industry trends.
Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the commercial construction market.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of leads and prospects through networking, industry events, cold calling, and market research.
- Conduct sales presentations, proposal meetings, and product demonstrations to showcase construction capabilities and solutions.
- Develop customized proposals, bids, and pricing structures based on client requirements and project specifications.
- Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with clients to foster loyalty, repeat business, and referrals.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities within the commercial construction sector.
- Share insights, best practices, and market intelligence with internal teams to enhance overall sales effectiveness.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for existing clients, maintaining regular communication to understand their needs, goals, and expectations.
- Travel locally and regionally as needed to meet with clients, attend events, and visit project sites.
Requirements
- At least five years (5) of experience in the trade.
- Strong work ethic with ability to multi-task and focus.
- Detail-driven with an accounting mindset – “know your costs”.
- Excellent organizational skills – sequences and orders.
- Computer and technology-savvy.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, products, and services, including knowledge of building materials, methods, and codes.
