About the role

The Account Executive at SPS is a dynamic position designed for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment. This role requires a strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and a keen understanding of commercial construction processes, products, and services.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the commercial construction market, including developers, property owners, general contractors, and architects.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of leads and prospects through networking, industry events, cold calling, and market research.
  • Conduct sales presentations, proposal meetings, and product demonstrations to showcase construction capabilities and solutions.
  • Develop customized proposals, bids, and pricing structures based on client requirements and project specifications.
  • Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with clients to foster loyalty, repeat business, and referrals.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities within the commercial construction sector.
  • Share insights, best practices, and market intelligence with internal teams to enhance overall sales effectiveness.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for existing clients, maintaining regular communication to understand their needs, goals, and expectations.
  • Travel locally and regionally as needed to meet with clients, attend events, and visit project sites.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least five years (5) of experience in the trade.
  • Strong work ethic with ability to multi-task and focus.
  • Detail-driven with an accounting mindset – “know your costs”.
  • Excellent organizational skills – sequences and orders.
  • Computer and technology-savvy.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, products, and services, including knowledge of building materials, methods, and codes.
