Job Summary

Works under the supervision of the Director of Business Development. Account Executive will develop well-informed, responsive relationships with physicians and their staff, targeted long-term care facilities, and other health care providers to increase patient census and length of stay. Representative will act as a resource to referral partners, through effective communication and education, regarding the various programs offered by Lower Cape Fear Hospice.

Primary Job Duties

  • Acts as a marketing and sales liaison between LCFL and referral sources by providing service information to physicians, assigned facility staff, patients, and families when appropriate, and other providers of health care.
  • Acts as a resource to referral partners regarding all LCFL service lines.
  • Actively identifies barriers to service in the community, physician offices and facilities; takes an active role in solutions/resolutions by providing excellent customer service.
  • Has a direct influence on census growth, length of stay and referrals from providers and facilities in assigned territory based on individual goals and strategies.
  • Analyzes trends and patterns in referrals and admissions to identify needs and to develop marketing strategy.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • Education: Degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Licensure / Certifications: Experience: Three years experience: preference in hospice or home care or experience in marketing, public affairs, community relations or hospital liaison nurse

  • Essential Technical / Motor Skills: Ability to speak clearly to communicate with patients, families, physicians, and staff. Good command of the English language. Computer experience is helpful.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to develop positive interaction with patients, families, physicians and staff and other health professionals to effectively communicate and educate about hospice services and end-of-life care. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills be self-motivated and self-disciplined.

  • Essential Physical Requirements: Ability to move freely. Ability to work a full day and participate in occasional after hour events.

  • Essential Mental Abilities: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Requires higher level of mental faculties accompanied by short and long-term memory and the ability to manage stressful situations

  • Essential Sensory Requirements: Touch, sight, hearing, ability to organize thoughts, facts, and ideas. Ability to translate the written word. Exposure to Hazards: Rare but possible exposure to patients and other situations, which present a potential threat to personal safety.

  • Other - Hours of Work: Generally, Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. Weekends, evening, and early morning hours will be required from time to time. Flexibility with schedule required.

  • Population Served: Physicians, Nursing Staff, Facility Administrators, Discharge planners, social workers, other health professionals, insurance specialists, public, community leaders, and all patient populations from infants through geriatric with life limiting illness. Will be required to drive. Must have reliable transportation. Will be subject to the Safe Driver Policy.
