HybridSales$80k–$100k/yrFull-time
About the Role
This is a hands-on, full-cycle sales role for a high-performing BDR/SDR ready to step into closing or an early AE who still loves building pipeline. You’ll spend approximately 60% of your time generating demand and 40% closing, working directly with the founder to identify prospects, run outbound, conduct discovery and demos, handle objections, close customers, and help build their first repeatable sales playbook. This is not a traditional AE role where qualified meetings simply appear on your calendar. You’ll be expected to create opportunities from scratch and figure out what works.
Responsibilities
- Build pipeline through high-volume cold calling, email, LinkedIn, events, trade shows, and creative outbound strategies
- Prospect equipment dealers, rental companies, manufacturers, construction businesses, and other non-tech SMB/mid-market buyers
- Own opportunities from initial outreach through discovery, demo, follow-up, negotiation, and close
- Build strong relationships with owners, operators, GMs, sales leaders, and other non-technical decision-makers
- Test messaging, channels, and outreach strategies to identify repeatable acquisition motions
- Work directly with the founder to develop their early GTM strategy and sales playbook
- Track outbound activity, meetings booked, pipeline generated, conversion rates, and closed revenue
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings
- Travel approximately 1–2 times per month
- Bring customer insights back to the founders and product team as they continue to evolve
Requirements
- Approximately 2–5 years of B2B sales experience as a BDR, SDR, or early Account Executive
- Strong experience selling to non-tech SMB or mid-market customers
- Background selling into industries such as construction, manufacturing, equipment, home services, restaurants, dental, automotive, logistics, or similar traditional markets is highly preferred
- Proven high-volume outbound experience across cold calling, email, and LinkedIn
- Ability to speak concretely about metrics such as calls per day, meetings booked, pipeline generated, and quota attainment
- Experience personally self-sourcing opportunities rather than relying primarily on inbound leads
- Comfortable owning both prospecting and closing responsibilities
- Startup experience or demonstrated ability to succeed in an environment without a mature sales playbook
- Persistent, competitive, resourceful, and comfortable with rejection
- Strong ability to build trust with practical, non-technical buyers
- Motivated by performance, commission, ownership, and career growth
- Based in the San Francisco Bay Area or willing to relocate
- Comfortable working primarily in person during the first few months
- Comfortable traveling for customers and industry events
- Existing U.S. work authorization required
Pay
- $80K–$100K base salary
- Approximately $120K–$140K OTE
- Uncapped commission potential
- 0.1%–0.2% early-stage equity
Benefits
- Meaningful ownership as their first dedicated GTM hire
- Direct exposure to and mentorship from the founding team
- Opportunity to help build the company’s GTM motion from zero
- Clear path toward broader sales and GTM leadership responsibilities as the company grows
- Join a company with paying customers and early product-market fit, rather than a purely pre-revenue concept
- Work in a massive, underserved market with relatively little modern software competition
- Opportunity to work closely with customers across major equipment ecosystems including CAT, John Deere, and Bobcat
- High visibility and direct impact within an approximately four-person team
- Regular exposure to experienced operators, founders, and investors within their network
